The judo in this Holguín province is a sport of very good competitive results in the different categories, due to the supported work of his provincial commission and the body of technical staff spread in 11 of 14 municipalities who practise this combat discipline here.

In what it goes of the year 2008, the judo experienced a descent in his historical results, being the juvenile category the only one that reached an excellent result. Different were the causes that motivated these adverse results, the subjective some and objective others.

In conversation with Leonardo Aguirre López, provincial commissioner of the millennial martial art occurred into sport of combat, we knew closely the measurements that are proposed to return to the stellar planes.

What is the strategic plan designed for this cycle?
"For this stage we designed a strategic project that contains 12 criteria of measurements and 63 actions that they pay to the development of the judo in the province, did the restructuring of the technical force in the provincial centers of high yield, School of School Sports Beginning (EIDE) and the School of Athletic Improving (ESPA) that consists of a distribution of the trainers for divisions of weight, categories and sexes to achieve a more direct and effective attention with the athlete."

Also is re-designed the teachers' cloister of the municipality of Holguín for being this that of major masividad and historical competitive results, for it a general coordinator was named, with his finished structure, of the same form in what it goes already of school course methodological technical seminars have been realized with the trainers of the rest of the municipalities.

With what technical force is the Holguín province provided at present?
- "In these moments we are provided with 60 trainers in the municipalities, of them 51 being employed at the areas, since nine are fulfilling mission in the Republic Bolivariana of Venezuela and one works with young people, who after postgraduates were incorporating into that one areas fundamentally of three municipalities that today they do not have technical in Rafael Freyre, Antilla and Baguano.

In the School of School Sports Beginning, nine teachers work and at the School of Provincial Athletic Improving there are employed four, all at the highest level since these are those who prepare the athletes who will represent us in the national events."

How does the registration behave in this sport?
"At present we have a registration of 1456 pupils in all the areas, of the municipalities, while in the School of School Sports Beginning (EIDE) it has a registration of 52 athletes, meanwhile in the School of Athletic Improving (ESPA) 19 young people is registered."

In the National Centers of High Yield Holguín seven is one of the provinces with major registration, with a whole of 10 of them in the Bare Hill, where the National seedings are prepared and the teams go out to international events. In case of the School of National Athletic Improving (National ESPA) there is three holguineros, that without doubts constitute the base of our national teams.

The black and sixth belt they give of judo in Holguín, which has to his charge the Provincial Commission already several years ago, it is optimistic for the developed work and heads well in these moments. He thinks that the bases are created so that this sport of the grips and projections has the awaited results not only at national level but also in the international sand.

He remembered that Holguín has two medalists of Olympian gold and the honor of having the first one of Cuba and Latin America in the saguera Odalys Revé, who was crowned in Barcelona-92, then teeny-weeny Legna Verdecía in Sydney-2000, now it has to two props in the feminine national team Dupotey in the 57 and Yelenis Castillo in 78 kilograms, the latter it been on the point of being crowned in Beijing 2008.

The arbitration is an important element for the development of the sport, in this sense we ask Aguirre. How does the level of the arbitration appear in Holguín?

"Today the province possesses three umpires with the category of international, 15 nationals, 29 provincial ones and 18 with the policemen's qualification, a force capable of facing any type of competition."

It pointed out that Holguín will be a head office from third of November until eighth of November of the National Seminar of Arbitration in which there will assist two for provinces and more than 10 of the hosts, which it will take place in the attached National Center of Studies of the Sports of Combats to the faculty of Physical Culture, theoretical meeting that must increase the level of the judges on having concluded the same one."
